I think a lot of the 'grit' in mine was the pumpkin---do they peel those things before they puree them?

It's my understand commercial canned pumpkin is pureed with the skin.
That is why I like fresh pumpkin so much, I think. It is so silky.
I have been getting sugar pumpkins for .20/pound at our farmers' market.
I didn't notice grit in my coffee, so I wonder if that's the difference?
