My people probably can't really tell a difference either. I'm definitely more of a foodie.

The first time I made this recipe I did the lentils and meat separately and everyone, even meat loving dh, thought the lentils by themselves were good. None of us are vegetarian though so I would probably only do lentil again if I was out of meat. Otherwise, I'm happy to combine them to get more fiber in our diet.
