I used brown lentils (I also have green ones on hand) and they cooked fine. DD definitely loved them. I, too, thought it was better than bean. Will definitely add this into the rotation. I think this may be yummy enough I can get away with serving it to the whole family rather than a separate meat and separate vegetarian dish. I may have to double the recipe but that's not a problem.

The boys didn't seem to noticed the difference on the chicken tacos (over prepackaged mix). Ds kept saying, well, I like beef better. yes, I am aware of your love of beef but what about the seasoning? yeah, its good. Good, but do you like it better than the seasoning I normally use. I don't know because its not on beef.



Dh said he didn't notice a difference either.

Tonight is soup. I am making my favorite - the butternut squash in the crockpot. And I still have a bag of frozen homemade chicken noodle from last time, so that is defrosting in the fridge. I also p/u a loaf of fresh bakery bread since I had to run to the store this am for fruit and veggies and eggs.
