My DS and I were watching the food network last week, when the show "the Best Thing I Ever Ate", brunch edition, was on. DS's eyes got really big, and he asked if we could have a couple of the dishes shown. One was a decadent chocolate french toast. I decided to make a somewhat less decadent, more breakfast friendly dish.
First, I made this cake yesterday.

I subbed egg whites for the egg, and cut back on the sugar by 1/4 cup, and used fat free greek yogurt.
Then I sliced the cake and placed it in a greased pyrex dish. Then I mixed 6 eggs with a cup of low fat milk and poured it over top, covered it and let it sit in the fridge overnight
This morning, I baked it for about 30 minutes at 375.
Serve with strawberries, whipped cream and real maple syrup. It was delicious, if very rich. Kind of like a chocolate bread pudding. There was 6 of us for breakfast, and we still have about 1/3 of the pan left and we're all stuffed.
