Yes, the gloves are to protect from stinging when you're harvesting... I stupidly plunged my hand in the bag of fresh nettles cause I had dropped a knife in there, and my fingers were tingling and weird feeling for almost 24 hours.
Apparently if you are more prone to have allergies it stimulates histamine in your body and you react more to the sting than people that aren't prone to allergies who recover from the sting much faster...
I don't know if they still sting after they're dried...
I do know that once you heat them they lose their sting.
Let me know if you figure that out.

Seriously, this year we are a full month ahead in the growing season, it's been SO mild.
We had maybe 3 inches of snow the whole winter...
