I agree with asking about moving if that's an option but I think you said you were moving soon anyway so that might not be an issue.

Are you allowed to homeschool where you live? If so, I would just arm yourself with a copy of the homeschool law for your state & have copies of any paperwork you submitted & received back from the school district within easy reach.

I also agree that stomping/running/ etc. isn't the best way inside but I also think your neighbor is just being unreasonable. My husband, a 51-year-old man, sounds like an elephant coming down stairs. He's not stomping. He's not trying to be loud. That's just how he walks. I imagine if he were walking around above me, I would think it was loud & annoying as well.
