Sounds reasonable to me - it's basically what I'm in the process of doing with my dd8
. I gave her the pre-test to see how she did (since we haven't formally covered 3/4 of it
), and now I know what we need to cover before starting. Some things she just needed me to explain once and then she was good (she didn't know what "find the sum" or "find the difference" meant, and she didn't know what a "digit" was; a couple things I think we'll need to do more work on (even/odd and add/sub with regrouping). I'm thinking she'll be ready about the time it arrives in the mail.
