I gave my microwave away to my sister about two months ago. I rarely used it before that...and only to reheat leftovers. I read in another microwave thread that a toaster oven works much better to reheat food and the food tastes better too. I looked up toaster ovens to buy to replace my microwave, and I found some that can fit two pizza pans. My oven is
tiny so I decided it counted as a toaster oven. I've been putting leftovers on a cookie sheet or oven-proof pan, setting it in the oven and turning the oven to preheat to 350. As soon as the light goes off telling me the oven has reached 350, my food is warm but not charred
Sometimes I have to cut big chunks of meat into smaller pieces to heat it to the middle, but so far I haven't missed my microwave at all. I steam vegetables on the stovetop, now too. I can't think what else people use microwaves for, that's all I ever did with mine.
