Default Re: Millennial Monopoly. . . not sure if this belongs in IF?

What I read is that originally the game board has two sides. Someone had read a book about a different, theoretically fairer model of property ownership. They made a board game to contrast the two models. One side of the board/set of rules was How It Is Now, the other showed How It Could Be. You played one side, then the other. The game became popular, iirc, among Quakers, who would copy the board and rules from each other. Then someone came along, stole the How It Is Now side and sold it, with minor changes, to Parker Brothers.
I've always wanted to try the original game and investigate the economic system it championed

...I guess the writer of that book might well be considered a Special Snowflake wanting to change the system to be fairer to everyone

(BTW, I'm 38, making me technically a millennial, albeit an older one)
