This is similar to my basic system. The carrying file box is one that I can pull out to file when I have multiple papers like medical, school, home, etc. Our file box is step 2 in our organization process. Step 1 is to put papers in
something like this near our kitchen area that holds incoming mail (or general things for either hubby or I), one for me (things I need to deal with when I have time) and one for him (things he needs to deal with when he has time). HEN it goes into the carrying file box when I have more time. Kids school papers - not sure if you have this issue as a homeschooler - but I like to have a special box for papers i need to sign or review so that they can put them in the box and I review/sign and give back.
