I think they are similar. I use it for dry beans, potatoes, and oatmeal quite a bit. Otherwise I dump random stuff in there and turn it on
I did get a Vegan Pressure cookbook and what I have tried is successful. Then I got pregnant and everything smells bad.
But, stews, soups, curries all work well in there. And, it does it fast. You can saute on mine so you can onions and stuff then add everything and turn the pressure on.
I am horrible about getting dinner down at a responsible time. So, this has made that much easier. My kids love beans so it's been great to whip a batch of beans or Chili.
My favorite part is that I can put stuff in and walk away. It will cook it and then go to warm. So, I am not burning things which I do a lot.
