My mom is inheriting my brother's iPhone5. He moved to a cheaper plan and gave it to her.
My mom has *no* smartphone experience. She's had my iPod touch for over a year and still hasn't figured out using it. Well, she just *doesn't* use it. She's intimidated by *all* the features and doesn't just stop and learn one or two.
If you'd just been gifted a smartphone, but knew nothing of how to use it, what apps would you feel are a necessity and you'd grow to love and use? Apps need to mostly be free for now.
She has a few games that she likes, but she tends to pick the ones that need internet, so she's never able to play them when she's bored somewhere.
I'll get her set with things like Temple Run and Bejeweled. I told her she can use it for shopping lists and she kind of likes that idea.
This is hard for me because I have a fully stocked, complex phone.
I have *everything* on my iPhone. Hers is identical to mine in every way, except for color (my brother picked white, I have black). I'm going to have to really work to convince her that she should get an Otterbox case... (It's a lot of money, but, really, cheaper than replacing the phone.)
