Ok - so many recipes for CP's call for cans of condensed coup (chicken, celery, mushroom.....). Is there an alternative to Campbells? I don't buy those anymore because they have MSG (a cancer fertilizer), but can't find any other "condensed" brands. And how do I compensate with a noncondensed kind? I've tried and, of course, it was very liquidy.

I usually will use a cup of broth mixed up, and thicken it with some cornstarch. I up the other flavors to make up for the lack of flavor (er, salt
) from the soup. The other day I added a little sour cream and that was nice in addition to the thickened broth. I did a search online and found a LOT of websites with ideas but most want you to do something fairly elaborate- the thickened broth is super easy and works
. It's frusturating how SOOO many crockpot recipes call for the cream of soups- they're so horrible for you.
