That is not true of most stomach bugs, particularly noro can survive for 2+weeks of surfaces.


That said wool is antibacterial, give it a wash the way you would for a leaked poop and try to get it in the sun.
Clorox disinfectant products (spray and wipes) say they are 99% effective against noro virus. Wash everything on hot with extra detergent and dry on hot if possible.
Stop the Stomach Flu .com has a list of cleaners she has tested.
She found in her tests Lysol also works at cleaning bacteria as well as bleach if you saturate the surface in the solution.

Just wipe and spray down as best you can.

I hate stomach bugs, I had several terrible ones multiple times a winter growing up partially due to undiagnosed food allergies (weak gut) and partially due to the fact that My Mom was kind of lax about cleaning up from them and didn't teach good hand hygiene (which is number 1 in prevention, wash your hands after dealing with puke or poop and before you eat with warm soapy water).
Understanding how they spread (saliva, airborne ouke, and feces for up to 2 weeks) can keep exposures down. I completely get the "torch the house" feeling. I don't mind puke (it is gross) but I absolutely hate seeing my kids miserable, I empathize. I think I have a bit of PTSD from my bugs as a child, I would get sick 20+times (which was also likely because my Mom didn't have a good understanding that no fluids until 3hours have passed and no food until at leastb 3hours of fluids have stayed down) it was awful.
I go back over everything every 24hours for 2-3 days to be sure someone wasn't sucking on their hands and than touching stuff and once a week as a general rule anyway in cold season (and because everything is always smudgy thanks to toddler).
My main attack mode is to go around the house with bleach wipes. I clean the remotes, door knobs, light switches, the bathroom really well, I wipe down walls where the kids tend to trail their hands (stair wells) any shared handles (fridge, berkey, soap pumps/ sinks, kitchen drawer pulls) and have anyone who hasn't been ill wash their hands before eating and avoid touching their face.
I am the puke and house cleaner and the last 9years have only gotten super ill once (the first bug we ever had both babies had it all over me). I wash my hands, eat some extra garlic on toast (and stick to easy boring foods for a few days) and take activated charcoal if I start to feel ill. We have kept it to just 1or two people for the last 5years.I
The only time it has hit every person was when I didn't clean the house well with lysol (this past December I wasn't using lysol/Clorox cleaners and I have found those gross but most effective next to bleach) though it was mild for most of us (I had a fever and stomach ache for 24 hours but wasn't sick beyond GI symptoms). I
It's not the end of the world, but it does feel like life stops when everyone gets sick like that which isn't a fun feeling.
