I will put them in a sinknof warm water and then general dump things in to a sauce pan. If I am in a real hurry I will put the jar in a pan with cook water and gently bring it up to simmer.
I have also.poped jars in to the oven to reheat.
I don't have a microwave but you could also defrost things in there in the glass jar
I don't be do this often as I tend to drop thing out for the freezer so I just decided it was better for me to freeze things in ziplock bags. The bags both survive when I inevitably let them fall on my head when reaching in and thaw fairly quickly in a sink of warm water
