It seems fine. It doesn't make any claims to grind grain or anything heavy duty, but I've used regular blenders to do that when I've been in a pich and if they worked, then the Vitamix (king of all blenders) certainly should.

I'd be excited about it.

Mine is a 3600...I swear it's like 30 years old.
