We have a nutrimill but I also want to get a hand powered one someday as a back-up in power loss situations. I
our nutrimill, and think it is a great one to start with. We chose the nutrimill because you don't have to assemble it each time you use it and because you can stop and start while the grain is in the hopper. With kids helping, I didn't want to clog the mill if they started or stopped at a weird time. The wondermill must be on before you put in the grain, and cannot be turned off until the grain has completely run through. The wondermill does do better at making coarser grinds if you need that for cornmeal or something, which may be a factor for you. I haven't looked at any other mills really so can't compare those. We have had ours for nearly 3 years. It plus our electrolux mixer have places of honor in our kitchen.
