Stainless Steel Cookware?

I bought myself a present this Christmas. I purchased some stainless steel pans. I was wondering if I need to season them? I have only used cast iron more but these are lighter for the kids. Please any info is great. My set is Pure Intentions and environmental friendly and life time guarantee. :)

No, they don't need to be seasoned. They will require either water or some fat to keep things from sticking.

I put mine on medium heat for 3 minutes and then add oil or fat and cook. No sticking. Mine are 40 years old. My mom paid $600 for them (or something crazy like that 40 years ago.) I got them when my parents divorced. She left the kids and the pans behind. And now she lives with us. But I'm keeping the pans! lol

That is reassuring for sure. I avoid teflon because of health reasons.

I use coconut oil, avocado oils and the like to cook with anyway. Cast iron is the same way :rockon

You can season stainless if you want. Similar to cast iron. Heat and wipe on a thin layer of oil. It helps with sticking but is not necessary. My pans have so many nicks that it helps mine quite a bit when I remember to do it.
