iron on help

Does anyone know where I can find iron on transfer sheets that you don't print on? I want to be able to cut letters out of fabric and then iron them onto a shirt. But I don't know where to get the iron on stuff. I'm looking for some place online, since we live close to no craft stores.

To make something like this, but with my own fabric and my own wording.

I guess from what I'm finding, you can't do it with fabric, and I just have to print the font from my computer? If anyone knows any different I would love to know.

heat n bond (lite is a bit better) would work for what you need however for durability it's always best to follow up the iron on with stitches around the edge of the applique. I think wonder under is a similar product.

Re: iron on help

There is paper-baked iron on transfer paper and you can get it at Wal-Mart or the like. I can't remember what it's called. I use it a TON though (I have some here sitting beside me :giggle)

I iron the fabric scrap on the paper, then cut out what I want, then peel the paper and iron it on the shirt (or whatever). Then I satin stitch around the edges to secure.

I'll try to find the name of it in a bit... baby is crying!

Heat n' Bond!!!

I usually get it by the yard at Joanns, but I know I've bought it at Wal-Mart before too.

Thank you so much!!! Now, to get it, make the shirt and find someone to stitch it for me. (I don't trust my newbie sewing skills not to mess it up.)

That is such a cute idea too... I think I'm going to make a few for my little guys and if it works out maybe offer them on a swap. :giggle:giggle:giggle:giggle

Re: iron on help

I was going to have shirts embroidered, but they were expensive and I couldn't find anyone to do the design I wanted. So I'm going to try this, and then I can customize them with the fabric I want.
