We've been enjoying this soup a lot recently - just right for a cold autumn evening (I serve it with bread but I've not made the toasted cheese thing they suggest). It's surprisingly filling and very tasty!

Brats in cider gravy and rice for most of the fam, and a chicken curry for me and Peanut (Pea ate his over rice)... I was planning to make broccoli but got too tired, so the kids picked to eat canned corn with dinner. :shrug3 So I only had the curry.

Re: November's Dinners

A soup... lamb, onions, garlic, mushrooms, carrots, chicken stock, red wine, bay leaves, herbes de Provence (potatoes and green peas cooked in a separate pot to be mixed for those who can have them; and some people might have some heavy cream splashed in :shrug3)

and I was hoping to make this for dessert: https://www.saveur.com/article/Recipes/Apple-Clafouti

...but with only half the kids due home before 8, I am not sure it'd get eaten. So I am debating whether to make it yet or not. :scratch

[And I have the Instant Pot simmering away another batch of stock too]

Last night was a quick put together. Shredded bbq chicken breast in the IP. Mashed potatoes (boiled on the stove) and roasted carrots.

I have a full chicken thawing to make a batch of chicken soup. Dh is coming down with a cold.

I'm slowly trying to go through my freezer, so we just had bratwurst I found and a salad. It feels so good to be clearing it out!

Re: November's Dinners

No idea. I have laryngitis so I suspect the Sicilian will be making all the meals this weekend. (They got up and did breakfast so early I have no idea what they had.) He asked me to soak some greens in water and baking soda. (Since they won't be home until 4:30) So I have kale going in the sink and red mustard greens in a big bowl. :shrug3

(:phew Really glad I made almost 4 quarts of broth yesterday. I kinda think I will be having soups and pureed foods for a few days. I can barely swallow--which of course means I seem to be making extra saliva. Lol)

Its warming up here in Australia (we had one day last week that was 40c/104F) and we are still in spring :jawdrop. Doesn't bode well for summer :phew

So I'm starting to bring salads back in with a few of our meals....although my DS #2 (18) is tough to convince that salad is actually food :giggle

Chili in the crockpot tonight. I added about 1/3 c of puréed pumpkin and a few shakes of cinnamon along with the usual spices. It was good!

Today is DD2's birthday and she asked for Lemon Chicken Linguine and Garlic Lemon and Parmesan Roasted Brussel Sprouts. I think I'll make some rolls on the side. For dessert she always wants this Rustic Raspberry Lemon Cheesecake Tart which is super easy and flavorful.

(I still have just a whisper voice, but I am feeling *much* better and finally up to cooking again.)

Making a soup with turkey Italian sausage, onions/peppers, and kale... The family will have gnocchi in it (that I am cooking on the side).

One of my kids asked for meatloaf. :scratch I've made meatloaf maybe twice in my adult life. Just not something I think of. So I made this one and everyone loved it. I didn't use sausage and I used oatmeal instead of bread crumbs (pulsed in the food processor). https://www.loavesanddishes.net/tasty-easy-meatloaf/
