Influenza treatment?

Bear was just dx with Influenza A. What are some of the good natural treatments? I know Sambucol . . .

Anything good for helping the rest of us avoid it? I'm especially worried about Bug.

Oscillococcinum! :heart Take it at the first sign of symptoms. And give it to your ds now!

I had some homeopathic flu pellets for years. I came down with the flu this winter and took them every 15 minutes. I woke up good as new the next day. :jawdrop

Elderberry and Dr. Christopher's Super Garlic Immune Formula are my remedies of choice. They both work really well. My family had the flu last week and when I started to get it, too, I took cayenne and was fine within 2 hours.

Oscillo is a good idea. Also, elderberry syrup (sambucol, or you can make your own.) I credit both of those with helping my 10 yo dd get over Influenza B very quickly last week. And the elderberry syrup with keeping the rest of us healthy.

Grrrr, can you say "lactose"? :doh Bear is so sensitive to *any* dairy, he can't handle supplements with even traces of lactose. There are so many things that I've wanted to give him that have contained lactose. :mad

And, Bug is pretty sensitive to dairy too so I'm reluctant to take it myself. Only DD and DH would be able to take it.

You can do elderberry extract for the rest of the family, too.
