Re: Hand Sanitizer -- yea or nay?
Post 20 of this thread http://www.gentlechristianmothers.co...nitizer&page=2 I posted 2 non alcohol based recipes for sanitizer - basically, aloe, hydrogen peroxide and e.o.'s and water in one :) Easy and usually very effective.
I am listening intently. Prior to our son getting cancer we had LisaM's philosophy. . . then our son got cancer and we found ourselves at cross roads of indecision. ANyways, we compromised and allowed TONS of h/s while he was sick AFTER he landed in the hospital with complications 2 times in the first 6 weeks of chemo. After that, he was never hospitalized again for any complications over a 2.5 more years of chemo and he never got an infection again. He had many other issues but most med professionals and other parents of cancer kids drop their jaw to hear that he never was hospitalized for complications after the first 6 weeks of chemo :shrug3 Now, we also did complementary holistic treatment and I am sure that contributed to his health; however, the above paragraph is why dh likes sanitizer. Not saying it is rational but it's why dh likes it ;) We have reached a compromise and I make our own for the most part. When we get to the bottom of the bottle (store bought), I refill it with homemade over and over . . . then when the bottle clogs we buy a new one. We actually are rarely sick . . . Hm. . . I have been sick 2 times this entire calendar year so far and one of the times we are about 75% sure was H1N1. DD had a stomach bug that lasted about 4 hours about a week ago. . . I can't recall anyone being sick any other time since summer :think I will admit that typing this makes me want to try to convince dh to go back to only homemade like we were before cancer ;) Especially because my dh is starting to become a lot more alternative than me lately . . . so I bet he'd be easy to convince as we haven't discussed sanitizer around here in a long long time :giggle |

A study, funded by Dial Corp of all things, shows even hand santizier revved up to be more anti-viral had no impact. This study actually has me concerned that store and schools are going to start "sanitizing" the air. :-/ Posted via Mobile Device |
Re: Hand Sanitizer -- yea or nay?
