bread bowls - how to cut?
DH and I are in love with Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day (aka the "bread revolution") and we're thinking this recipe would make fabulous bread bowls a la Panera :yum
What we don't know is how to cut out a cylinder of bread from the middle like they do at Panera, to make room for the soup. DH jokingly suggested his hole saw attachment for his cordless drill :giggle Anyone done this and know of any tools or tips? |
Re: bread bowls - how to cut?
:think I think I just used a knife and cut a round and then tore out pieces to make the bowl

Former Panera Employee here.
We used a hand held tool that looks sort of like a doorknob drill bit :-D But really all you need to do is pretend the bread is a pumpkin. Cut it like you would cut out a stem and the clean out the middle make sure you leave at least a 1/4 inch around to prevent leakage. |
