Yeast Question - Fast help needed :)

I got a bread machine for Christmas and have only used Active Dry Yeast in it so far.

(My instruction book does not have this info in it :shrug )

If I substitute rapid rise yeast, do I choose a rapid cycle?

I use rapid rise or regular dry yeast interchangeably in my bread machine. ...er, I did, until I realized ds is allergic to ascorbic acid which is used as a preservative in the rapid rise. :doh But that's how I found out that either one worked and no settings adjustment was necessary. ;)

Okay, so when you use rapid rise, you do not select the "quick rise" cycle?

Nope. :no I set mine on the dough cycle always, though. This may not be helping you after all!!

Anyone else out there??

Yes I think that is what confuses me- because there are different rise choices. But I am still grateful for your help!

If yours has a dough setting, use that, because you can monitor the rising somewhat. If it looks like it is getting too big and the cycle has not ended yet, you can just unplug it and take your dough out, punch it down and put it in a loaf pan to rise the second time.
