Preserving edeme
Anyone preserve edeme?
We are members of a full-food CSA. I have a bushel of edeme. We love to eat it and could just go ahead and it it all this week, but it would be nice to have some for the winter. I have seen it in the past in the frozen section of the food store--do you flash freeze, just freeze, partially cook and freeze? |
Re: Preserving edeme
Do you mean edamame?
If you do, you can blanch a serving size portion by boiling it in salted water for one minute, then quickly chilling it by putting it into cold water. Freeze in a ziplock bag. I found that out by googling "freezing edamame" if you want to look for more info. |
Re: Preserving edeme
thanks-yes my spelling was way off-- my dh looked it up and said he couldn't find anything on preserving it, only cooking (which we already know how to do.) I didn't bother to goggle it as he said he did:D
Sounds like a basic blanch and flash freeze! |
