Not having anything to post
 

Sometimes I just don’t find anything to post and I come here reading listening but not sure I have much to contribute to the discussion or find it’s been closed so I don’t always post but I read a lot. :shifty Anyway it is what it is but I was hoping I am not alone.

I totally understand. It's not always easy to come up with a topic. I reply way more than I start posts. Just a few words to let someone know you care is often enough.

It definitely seems like this group isn’t as active as it used to be. But then again I don’t know what to post, either.

I so want to post more by starting new threads, but I can't for the life of me think of anything interesting to post about. And as for posting in other threads I erase probably the majority of my posts before I post them because I'm not sure I'm adding anything to the discussion.

I think everything adds to the discussion. What's sad is when the discussion never gets off the ground because nobody replies.

We actually have a committee whose job it is to seek out posts without replies and post to them. This committee is no longer active, as threads are no longer falling between the cracks, due to us now being smaller and more intimate. [emoji813]

I also kind of feel like, as my kids are now older, I don't need all of that intense parenting advice that I needed when I first came here. I mean, I still need advice every now and again. But that was my main concern when I first joined 16 years ago!

When I joined it was mainly for parenting advice which I still need once in a while but not as often. Although dealing with teens right now I could think of a few things I need help with if I ever get the time and energy to put my thoughts into a coherent post. Mostly I just reply to other posts for advice and every once in a while to the chit chat type posts.

Yep, totally agree. I was feeling the need for mom community strongly back when I joined with a baby and one on the way. I still love the perspectives here, but it's definitely slower. There's also social media that connects me more easily to IRL friends.

Also, as I have older kids now I try to be conscious of not oversharing.

I answered a discipline question on a more active baby board I still lurk on occasion and I got tons of "Will you be my mom?" I felt wise for a moment :O

I work a desk job now, and this is one of the only things that isn't blocked :shifty , so I find myself scrolling through really old posts when I need to take a mental break.

I'm glad some of us are still around :heart

I totally can relate to this. When I joined my kids where 6 months, 3 and 4 years old lol Time flys for sure. I just get lonely for someone to chat with because I don’t have a ton of friends that I can talk too.

I greatly appreciate that some of you with older kids are still around. On days I feel like I am going to rather kill my 10 year old or go crazy I really appreciate the perspective.
