I think Abeka has something like that. Abeka Academy I think it's called.

What about Heritage Online Academy? Not sure where you are located but they have several options to choose from.

We used Monarch for awhile. It is basically Switched on Schoolhouse.

Re: Online Christian Distance School
I have a friend that used and liked Monarch.
Abeka Academy has some really mixed reviews. The negatives were that the teaching was really, really dry and the communication with the office staff was horrible. |

Did you find something?

I used Monarch for the beginning of the year but my children struggled with the math and not being able to write out problems so we switched some things around and now I’m doing a mix of things. Monarch will be my backup in future but for now we’re using other stuff. The Abeka is so expensive or I’d try that for all of them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

We've been using Monarch for about 2 months. We like some things about it but not everything. Overall, the pros outweigh the cons for us, at least for now. My kids write math problems on paper if they need to and then enter their answer. Your kids didn't like doing that?

One did but the other two thought they could rush and were not consistent in writing out problems and their grades reflected that. It was just easier in the end having a workbook that they did all math in. Even still I may use Monarch again for next year some courses because the overall positives and convenience was worth it to me and just pick out which courses we use it for. It definitely has pros and cons. Right now, I feel so busy and overwhelmed that it's worth it for us. I am looking forward to doing more multi-disciplinary units soon, though. My 9th grader does not like the algebra course and wants to go back to Life of Fred. I kind of want her to read the lessons in LoF and do some of the problems, but also do some problems in Monarch because they'll get graded and go into a sort-of official grading system and transcript. We'll see. |
