ANyone have a breadmaker they "love" ?
I am looking for a breadmaker. I am also going to start a thread in cookbook about premaking bread mixes from scratch (just fyi ;) )
Thanks in advance! |

I'd like to find a good one too; the one we have now I really don't love at all.

I *love* LOVE LOVE! my Zojirushi bread machine! I've been baking bread made with fresh ground flour in it for almost 4 years and I have NEVER had a problem. I had a friend give me the best settings and recipe and I get perfect bread every time, without worrying whether the motor will burn out!

Re: ANyone have a breadmaker they "love" ?
Will you post the recipe and settings too or PM me? I am excited you posted -- I didn't know you used a breadmaker but I knew you used fresh ground flour like me :) :) :) My problem is that I have destroyed one breadmaker using only whole grain flours and another started to slow down that I had borrowed from my mom so I stopped using it :shifty ANd it has a horizontal loaf pan :tu
Now, I have to come up with some cash - hopefully dh's vacation check will be decent and we can get it in June :pray. The reviews on amazon are interesting - either they love it or hate it :lol However, most seem positive :) |
Re: ANyone have a breadmaker they "love" ?
It was the one recommended to me by the Bread Beckers, and I know they love it, so we bought one!! Here's the recipe ( this makes a 2lb loaf, I like to make a 1.5 lb so I use the measurements noted in green):
1 1/2 cups hot water (1 c. + 2 TBSP) 1/2 cup oil (use 1/3 cup if use egg) (1/4 cup, I use egg) 1/4 cup honey (3 TBSP) 4 1/2 cups freshly milled flour (3 3/4 cup) 2 tsp salt (1 1/2 tsp) 2 TBSP Lecithin (1 1/2 TBSP) 1 tsp gluten (optional) (3/4 tsp) 1 egg (optional) Make a small well in the middle of the flour and place: 1 TBSP yeast (2 1/4 tsp) Program the following into the Homemade cycle: Preheat 18 min Knead 20 min Rise 1 45 min Rise 2 20-50 mins (I think we use 35?) (Note: This will vary depending on your kitchen's temp, start at 50 mins, if your bread falls, reduce the 2nd rise time a little more) Rise 3 off Bake 36 mins Keep Warm off |

"I *love* LOVE LOVE! my Zojirushi" :kiss Me too, I have to make Gluten free bread and the only time it has not turned out perfect is when I forget to add the yeast. I had to write a note in large print on my recipe [ remember to add the yeast] :doh I have had mine for many years. Karnen |

Re: ANyone have a breadmaker they "love" ?
I don't know much about it, I just got my first bread maker last winter. It's a Breadman Ultimate, and has a lot of settings. My friend, who's very much into breadmaking, was impressed. So far, I've made one mix from scratch (friend's mom had it pre-mixed in a baggie for me) and some box mixes, and they come out very yummy =). I keep meaning to put my own pre-mixes together one of these days. The box ones are expensive.
