Re: Free Resources?
I know that many children/ families are fans of the audio based Adventures in Odyssey.
There are many web-based audio shows. There is a huge list I found, but some are soapoperas that are geared for adults so I won't put that list here. However, I will post the ones geared for children and add to the list as I find more. http://imaginationlane.net/shows.html Here is their list on story guidelines: "Family Friendly / Clean Feed These need to be released on a clean feed and be safe for the entire family as well as conservatives. This means: - No swearing (not even OMGs) - No mature situations / sexual references - No detailed graphic violence " This is a volunteer based audio drama. I would personally say that it is geared for "middle school" age children on up with parents, I listened to one of the stories in the Imagination Backroads series which was very well done. Here is a children's radio link site many of which are Christian based: http://radiotime.com/genre/c_227/Children.aspx |

Re: Free Resources?
Teach a Child to Read With Children's Books can be downloaded in its entirety here (your pick of editions, too).
MEP math - Pre-K through high school. British program based on Hungarian approaches to teaching math - very conceptual, full of thinking, puzzle-type problems. CSMP - K-6. Very unique conceptual math program, comes out of the original New Math of the 60s. Has math storybooks, very hands-on in younger years - feels like a bunch of mathematicians got together and tried to make arithmetic fun :giggle. KISS Grammar - free grammar program that has a big picture approach, and uses passages from literature for analysis. |

http://macmillanmh.com/languagearts/...workbooks.html - not sure if this has been mentioned already but these look like nice language arts printables.
I have only looked at the K and 1st grade levels but they seem nice if you have a little worksheet lover. I moved them to the ipad for a traveling option. |
Re: Free Resources?
Oh, hey, look, a listing of free K12 curricula, including things I never found on Google! The PreK & Kinder tab lists everything I spent several days Googling up in the Lesson Plans forum :doh.

I just browsed a bunch of the samples and this looks like a great integrated language arts curriculum. You can order the printed version but the PDF's of the entire program are FREE! |
