How do I clean an old stuffed animal?
DS has DH's stuffed dog from his childhood.
It has been peed on. :doh Can I submerge it without destroying it entirely? It's not terribly beat up, just... old. |
Re: How do I clean an old stuffed animal?
I have put stuffed animals on gentle/delicate cycle with some Woolite. And then air dried and tossed into the dryer for a few minutes to "fluff."
BUT, those were animals/lovies from the last decade. Hmm. What about surface scrubbing and a sprayer at the kitchen sink? |

A friend occasionally dry-cleaned stuffed animals. :shrug3

Re: How do I clean an old stuffed animal?
Depends on the filling. If it's fluff, I put it in a pillowcase and knot the end. Then I was it on gentle and let it spin for a while. If it's filled with something else, I'd try a surface cleaning.
I washed my PotBelly bear from the early 80s that way. I use a pillow case to protect their eyes a little bit. |
Re: How do I clean an old stuffed animal?
I had a stuffed animal from when I was a baby (86) and it was just washed in the washer like normal:shrug3

We've succesfully washed DH's bear that's only a few months younger than him in the washing machine, in a pillow case, on gentle.
