Green tea that doesn't taste like grass?
I'd like to start drinking green tea for health reasons, but the times I've tried it in the past, it tasted like grass to me. :shifty
Brand recommendations? Other hints? :) |

Yes, I don't care for straight green tea either. Green tea w/jasmine is lovely. Adding honey helps. Or you could add another tea bag, like peppermint, and make a mix. This works especially well w/iced tea. In the warm weather I try to keep a pitcher of iced green tea & honey going - very refreshing.

Earl Green. It has the flavor of Earl Grey tea, but (no surprise!) is made with green instead of black tea. (I like it, & I am not a green tea person).
Another good one is green chai (all spicy & sweet, good with a splash of milk..dairy or not; I use soy or rice milk). There is a very nice tea sold for sore throats that is green tea with lemon & honey. (Bought it for the throat & now like it enough to use any time). Sweet iced green tea is indeed very refreshing. And there is also the possibility of using a green tea bag and a black tea bag together. |

Are we talking bag teas or loose leaf?
Most people and most bagged greens are some sort of Sencha which is very grassy. I like Sakura. It tastes like cherry. Silver Dragon tastes like heaven. :shifty You can also do a white tea. It's technically green. :giggle |

Jasmine Green Tea is the best ;). Can't stand regular but love the jasmine.

Make sure you're brewing it properly...I used to love green tea in restaurants, but hated the stuff I made at home....then I talked to a tea connoisseur......
She told me green tea is finicky - boil the water but then let it sit a minute before pouring it on the tea (boiling water will burn it) - then steep for 3 mins MAX and pull it out, strain it, whatever..... Green tea is much much better now.... :) |
