Housekeeping on steroids!

Can I just say that having a deadline can really help with motivation. For me it doesn't matter if it is company coming or a surgery it is a powerful motivator to get my house in order. Now, surgery isn't something you would want to schedule everyday but yesterday I accomplished so much in preparation for my operation today. My supper is made and ready to be started in the crockpot (for my family-not me), I did multiple loads of non-essential laundry like dog beds, cleaning rags, bathroom mats, I vacuumed and washed all floors, dusted, cleaned and disinfected the kitchen and 4 bathrooms, processed a big bucket of zucchini and made brownies and pizza from a portion of it, completed some office work, gardening, wiped down deck and furniture, bathed the dog, walked the dog x2, and on and on....Cleaning is like therapy to me when I am worried about something. I can totally disconnect and just focus on my to-do list. It gives me such peace to know that the house is clean to come home to. Nothing worse than feeling yucky and then being surrounded by dirt. Anyway, I guess I am tooting my own horn at 3 AM because maybe I need to see the good in the bad situation. Or maybe it can be motivating for others that have a deadline. Once I got started I couldn't stop.

Yep! Here too! Those outside deadlines looming over my head always give me the best motivation. It's crazy to see how much I really *CAN* get accomplished under duress. :giggle

Congrats on your accomplishments!!! You are a great mom taking care of your family. :heart And it should really help your recovery with all this "to do" placed firmly in the "done" pile. :rockon

Praying for your surgery!
