Alternative to soy sour cream and soy cream cheese?

I was just wondering. I get one container of each every two weeks. If I can find a good alternative that would be wonderful because it is so expensive! I cannot have any lactose so everything I eat has to contain the smallest amount possible or perferably none. That means no milk, and only certain hard cheeses now for me. It is just really hard for me to give up these things.

There are recipes for each. I haven't tried them though. For Mexican food you can take avocado, lime, cilantro and mayo and thin that out with your favorite milk. it make a really good dressing or dip.

You could see if you can get a case discount. I know Fred Meyer gives one because I have down that in the past. They can do it for anything in the warehouse, too. So, you could try a different brand if it is cheaper.

Soaked cashews, blended with water, vinegar, and lemon juice is a recipe for a sour cream... I find the texture a bit off, so I mix it 50/50 with mayo for the base of my dip or plain as our sour cream. Everyone that has tried it really likes it. Another option is mixing 50/50 yogurt substitute with mayo/veganaise. I haven't found a good substitute for cream cheese (we avoid soy, so that's out) so I'll be :popcorn for that.

I wonder if I could mix my soy yogurt with mayo then and try that? I need to make my own soy yogurt but I just have not felt like it.
