How do I get the coffee filter basket clean?
Yuck. Even when I run it through the dishwasher, it still has that brown film at the bottom. Cleaning the cofffee pot with vinegar helps, but I'm left with the same problem. My vegetable scrub brush doesn't reach the corners. I just rinse it, not clean it after every pot, so it builds up.
My coffee pot is white, so it's really obvious. If yours is black, you don't even want to know what's camoflaged at the bottom of that basket! :mrgreen TIA! |

Have you tried vinegar?
If that doesn't work, try toothpaste and a toothbrush. |

I was just going to say....get a black coffee pot! :D
I guess I figure, it's boiling water going through it every time, so it must be disinfected stains... :shifty |

you can use baking soda and a toothbrush. But I don't bother, I just clean out the pot and wipe the inside of the water tank when it needs it. you can also run a pot of soda and water through your coffee maker to clean out the junk, or lemon juice and water (but don't forget to run a full pot or 2 of water after - or yukky coffee!)
hope that helps |
