mmmm...red beans and rice...
This is the closest I've been able to come to having them taste like what I grew up on - minus pork, MSG, garlic, and other assorted allergens.
uncooked red kidney beans a pot full of water ;) about 1/4 bottle of liquid smoke one boneless skinless chicken breast a splash of canola oil 3 large onions 3 bay leaves salt and cayenne pepper to taste simmer until they are done, and serve them over rice (or on white bread with mayo :blush yes, I grew up in Louisiana :shifty) |
