Ugh the coffee is doing it again

I have been really good about one cup a day. But, it is making me sick again. Which means I have to take a break from it. Seriously, I am a solo parenting, homeschooling mother of 5 kids. I cannot handle going without coffee. I just cannot function:-/

The last time it got this bad it took a good week to clear up. But, I was so tired.

Maybe try green tea instead which has healthful benefits and a milder version of caffeine?

I used to drink tea. But, it just doesn't do enough now:shifty. I might have to just deal with it. I think I am going to have to start napping once a day or something. Everyone keeps telling me how tired I look.

Re: Ugh the coffee is doing it again

I posted a link in the other thread of my experience w/coffee.

I have a love/hate relationship with it.

Are you taking any sort of probiotics on a regular basis? If I am regularly(like, every day) drinking my homemade kefir, I do better. But, the kids have been "helping" me drink it, so there's not that much to go around (not to mention the amount of milk we'd go through to make a lot of it....$$$)....

*For me*, I had a similar response to green tea, though with my gut health getting better, I can tolerate it better now.

FWIW, my go-to for the last couple years has been black tea with a bit of honey and a splash of milk or half and half. YMMV

And I indulge in coffee every once in a while...though my last experience was not a happy experience. :-/

Maybe try Matcha? or Yerba Mate'?

What is it doing to you?

I'm not the OP, but for me, it makes my stomach hurt, gives me brain fog/flying feeling/inability to concentrate....and many trips to the bathroom for #2. :shifty

Have any of you tried a liquid sub lingual vitamin B-complex during the day? Or just a liquid vitamin B-12? .... instead of coffee..... I mean. B-12 boosts energy in a big way. Don't take it in the evening.....

I've not tried sublingual/liquid B, but have noticed that a Twinlabs Stress-mins I have that is heavy on the B vits does give me more energy. I hesitate to take it w/my daily multi though, the Stress-mins alone cause neon liquid output, if you know what I mean. :giggle

It gives me diahrrea and horrible stomach pains. But, not if I have gone a couple of weeks without it. It gets progressively worse though.

This last week my stomach has even gurgling something awful.

I forgot to buy B vitamins. I was going to.

Seriously today my stomach has been making noises.

That's what regular coffee does to me, too. :hug2

Then one day I felt I had to be polite when at a neighbour's house and have a cup of coffee when offered, even though I knew I would pay for it later. I drank it. I was fine. :scratch I visited a second time and drank her coffee a second time. I was fine again. :think Finally I asked what sort of coffee she bought. Organic. :idea I must be sensitive to something used in the growing or processing of conventional coffee. I can drink any coffee I like now, as long as it's organic. NO stomach issues AT ALL. :rockon

can you take a caffeine pill? I'm sorry it's making you sick :( :hug heart

also, I have ridiculously bad gerd but I can drink organic fair trade Sumatran coffee and even Ethiopian coffee. fwiu coffee from South America is very acidic because it is hulled using machines that rip off the hull and leave the acid in the bean. In Africa and the surrounding area they dry the beans in the sun and the hulls fall off, taking the acid with them due to the time it takes. Turns out I even love the flavors better :heart

It is organic. I thought maybe that would help, too.

I can't drink coffee at all, any more.:snooty Makes me :sick. Big time. (gerd, diarrhea, etc, etc.....)
I recommend trying a good quality black tea. Though you ahve to remember that the caffeine in tea is a time-relaease rather than instant like coffee. You can take a caffeine pill at least until you get a level of tea-type caffeine in your body.....
Black tea has more caffeine than green, & white tea has less than green. (Red "tea" is actually not at all; it tastes nice, but has no caffeine at all).

FWIW, my tea of choice is Celtic Breakfast Tea. It has Assam tea with its' malty notes and I think Ceylon. It's basically a glorified Irish Breakfast Tea (my second choice) and is more strongly flavored than English Breakfast tea or just plain Lipton tea bags. I love it, and am seriously bummed when my local hfs is out and I have to settle with something else. :shifty
