watching live sports without cable tv?
We are working hard to cut our monthly expenses. And we we realized that the only things we watch on cable are live sports, NFL, MLS, EPL and NASCAR. Any ideas how to get access to these games and races without paying for cable tv? Everything I read says local teams will be blacked out from streaming in that area unless it is a national broadcast like espn or fox sports.

What about the Disney Bundle?
It gives you ESPN +. right now we are "between" streaming services but plan to do that for TV and soccer once get start something up again. |
Re: watching live sports without cable tv?
We watch Premier League Soccer and NCAA football and basketball (men's and women's). We use HULU, ESPN+, and Sling. Usually, HULU has what we need.

Re: watching live sports without cable tv?
Anyone have an DH broadcast antenna? If they work decently that would solve our local sports issue.

Re: watching live sports without cable tv?
We have a basic antenna and are able to get all the basic channels. My ds and dh are able to watch most sports via that.

Re: watching live sports without cable tv?
If you live in a city or on a plain, an antenna will probably do the trick. If you live in a valley that blocks the local signals, you may have to place it higher off the attic roof or rely on satellite broadcasts or cable. In valley areas like that, they usually have a very basic local channel only package, which they might not advertise unless you ask specifically.

We are in the same boat. We watch ESPN channels all the time. We need to figure out a cheaper way though!

Re: watching live sports without cable tv?
We use sling. Dh switches which package depending on what event we want to watch. :shifty. There is no charge to do that. $35/month

Re: watching live sports without cable tv?
I'd look through these options.
https://clark.com/technology/tvsatel...-alternatives/ If you are in a metro area, a digital antenna could potentially give you 100 channels. No joke. With better picture than cable because it's not compressed. So I've been told. We're not metro. |
Re: watching live sports without cable tv?
We "cut the cord" years ago. We have a fairly basic antenna, and we also bought a DVR system. It pulls up a menu pretty similar to what cable looked like! We get lots of channels, and we are very happy with what we have.
