Playful parenting FAIL!!!!!

And here I thought I was being SO SMART :dohSo we've been really working with the kids on not jumping on the couch. We don't want it ruined, and they keep banging into each other and well...we want them to sit on the couch not jump. So Dynamo was jumping around on it today and I had a sudden moment of inspiration!!!! :idea And I burst out with:

One little Dynamo jumping on the couch
She'll fall off and then say OUCH!
Momma comes and says in a voice like a grouch
NO MORE DYNAMOS JUMPING ON THE COUCH!!!!

All four kids burst out laughing! And then all four of them proceeded to jump up and down on the couch saying, "DO ME MOMMY! DO ME!!!!" :doh Erm...not quite what I wanted to happen. :P~

Re: Playful parenting FAIL!!!!!

:lol We got a mini trampoline aka rebounder for $30 last year. All jumping on furniture is redirected to it instead;)

Note to self:

Serenading an activity increases likelihood of activity reoccurring. Check.

The degree of humor inherent in the serenade is directly proportional to the immediacy of re-occurrence and to the quantity of children involved in the re-occurrence. Check.

Re: Playful parenting FAIL!!!!!

What is it about couches huh? I try to say feet stay on the floor instead of don't put your feet on the floor. I usually get a shy smile. If jumping on couch I'll do similar to one that said a mini trampoline. I have a gymnastics mat. It's not huge but it's perfect for the job which seems to help.
