Re: Easy Peasy - All in One Homeschool
He said that she talked like he was dumb. :shrug3. He also said he wanted to read real books.
ETA, I went to do a Lesson with him today to see if he still felt that way but when I clicked on the link to her video the site was blocked and I got this message, " This site was categorized in: File storage, Pornography" I wonder if someone hacked her site. Does anyone else get that message when trying to view the reading videos? Here's the link to the reading curriculum. You have to click on "your words" for the reading video. http://allinonehomeschool.com/days-1...guffey-reader/ |

Re: Easy Peasy - All in One Homeschool
I've been reading thru this site and am really impressed. I am thinking of using at least some of the extra lessons with my boys - I tried creating a whole series of lessons for my own kids. Only got 10 weeks done and it was brutally time consuming and hardwork! lol. I'm just not sure the reading books are our style - will have to think about it more. I think this looks like a terrific resource!

Re: Easy Peasy - All in One Homeschool
I had looked at this site before and just blew it off - I don't know why, though. :think I think part of it was just not wanting to be so tied to the computer (was still burnt out on k12 at that point).
A couple of days ago, I decided to look at it again and I was able to see it through a totally different lens. :rockon I think this is going to be so helpful this year for my DS1 and DD. I'm piecing together all of their stuff anyway and I get kind of overwhelmed with doing all the searching for stuff, and organizing everything, then trying to make it flow :crazy I appreciate the work that this mom has done so much! My DS1 is loooooving all the math games and I never would have found all this stuff on my own. I love how gentle and easy it all seems, and not loaded down with worksheets so far. :rockon Oh, foreign language peeps, have y'all checked out Duolingo yet? I found it recommended on the EP site and I'm loving it. |

Re: Easy Peasy - All in One Homeschool
We joined a new co-op this year (new to us, and also brand new, just started!) and I have been so out of touch with all the neat tips and tricks that homeschooling parents find (we've been on our own for a few years). A mom shared this site with me, and since my daughter (16) just withdrew from public school, I gave this site a try and it's so great! We cannot afford much right now, so I found history/geography and literature/composition for her to do at home. We started today and it went so smoothly! I am so happy to have found it!

Interested in trying it out! Sent from my XT557 using Tapatalk 2 |
I like hearing it works for older kids! We just do it for fun when I run out of ideas to do with my 3yo right now, but maybe I'll look into continuing when we start with "real" homeschool

Re: Easy Peasy - All in One Homeschool
We've been using the McGuffey Primer lessons for DS6 who has been balking at reading. It works better for him than the ETC and Bob Books we were using before--I think he likes it because it takes me out of the equation except when he reads the lessons. :shifty P plays the math games sometimes, but we are using MEP as our main math program.

Re: Easy Peasy - All in One Homeschool
I've found it useful when ds needs to supplement his public schooling since I can find vetted games that are on target for his level.

Re: Easy Peasy - All in One Homeschool
:cup checking this out, too. How wonderful that this mom has shared so freely.

Re: Easy Peasy - All in One Homeschool
I've been looking at it, and I think it might just be a great thing for us. I'm starting my lesson planner right now....anybody interested in an Easy Peasy thread for those doing it?

Re: Easy Peasy - All in One Homeschool
I'd be interested in an EP thread! We're doing first grade for DS1, but our own science and the primer for his reading. I read the chapter books aloud to him and have him write a sentence about it. We do Getting Ready 1 for DD, with a few modifications to make it more "letter of the week".
