Ethical sources for stuff
 

I’d like to start slowly buying clothes, make up, etc. that are ethically sourced. I know it’s more expensive but I want to make some cuts in other areas of our life, over time, so it makes financial sense too.

So I am looking for your best sources for ethically made items!

Buying ethically is a priority for my family. It is expensive, so the best way - for us - to make sure our money is not being used to promote unfair labor practices, is to buy secondhand. We buy 80% of our clothes from consignment or other used sources. We don't buy used underwear or socks. Those I purchase in various places:

I usually don't buy used shoes, unless they are barely worn. I almost only wear Birkenstocks, so that takes care of the ethically made shoes for me. I have been able to find (used) like new kids' shoes; Keen sandals hold up really well and I've come across those almost every summer. But it can be difficult sometimes, especially if the shoes are needed right away. For them, if I'm buying new, it's PLAE. They hold up awesome and are washable. We just don't buy many shoes - two pair per season (sneakers and sandals in the summer; sneakers and boots in the winter). Dh mostly buys his shoes used.

If I am buying new clothing, I like Aventura, Fair Indigo (good clearance prices), Pact (some great sales, especially this time of year), Threads for Thought.
