Schoohouse Rock
There is also that trick with the hands for multiplying by 9, but I don't think I can explain it in writing.

Ditto on Schoolhouse Rock! I had a miserable time with multiplication tables (especially 7, 8 and 12) so we pulled out every trick in the book for me. Nines are easy- the first digit is one less than you're multiplying and then whatever number adds up to nine. We would post whatever number I was working on that week in front of the toilet and that way I'd work on them multiple times a day.

We like the Math U See songs for skip counting. Makes multiplication easy.

Using them look for games online and if they like to do worksheets print some out along with a grid and let them find the answer on grid and say it out loud as they find/write answer

I requested schoolhouse rock multiplication from the library and then we looked on youtube and dd was NOT impressed with the songs :rolleyes

She knows *most* of her facts via skip counting but needs to memorize them because she is getting stuck in division because she skip counts to figure multiplication . . . . after trying to find some fun youtube songs, she asked for plain old flashcards> That made me remember a wrapping game for multiplication facts. . . you wrap a card . . . can't remember what it is???

I am fairly certain we are going to try math wraps. I'd like this whole set http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...07R4X879PNJCTW

BUT I want to try them before I buy the entire set . . . so I will probably go to the learning store early next week and get just multiplication for now ;)

We have those and the kids like them and seem to think it's a game. Especially when we're in the car, they play with them a lot. :phew
