Berry picking (for jam/syrup)...
with a 6 year old induces serious exhaustion :yawn
Hope they survive the night in the fridge, because processing them is not happening tonight :no :yawn |
Re: Berry picking (for jam/syrup)...
If you are too tired to get to them today, you can freeze them in a single layer, unwashed, then after they are frozen, put them in freezer bags. Washed berries turn into a frozen mass of solid berry. Jam and syrup can easily be made from frozen and thawed berries. Yum!

Re: Berry picking (for jam/syrup)...
Mmmm. My 7 yo and I picked tons of berries last week! I'm totally berried out! Hubby helped a little, but he's recovering from surgery so not up to much. :) Anyway, we got about 13 pounds of black and red raspberries picked last week. I made crepes one night, Raspberry cream cheese muffins another night, YUM!, and some mixed berry jam, and then froze the rest of them. Mmmmm mmmmmmm mmmmmm
