If you freeze stuff in mason jars.....
How do you manage thawing? I'm hoping to make a bunch of bone broth soon and we already have quart jars, but it always takes forever for them to thaw when I want to make soup etc..... The same with beans - I could make a batch in the IP and freeze in pint jars, but it's hard to plan the thawing and then I just end up using canned beans instead. TIA

Re: If you freeze stuff in mason jars.....
I will put them in a sinknof warm water and then general dump things in to a sauce pan. If I am in a real hurry I will put the jar in a pan with cook water and gently bring it up to simmer.
I have also.poped jars in to the oven to reheat. I don't have a microwave but you could also defrost things in there in the glass jar I don't be do this often as I tend to drop thing out for the freezer so I just decided it was better for me to freeze things in ziplock bags. The bags both survive when I inevitably let them fall on my head when reaching in and thaw fairly quickly in a sink of warm water Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk |

I usually freeze my broth in muffin tins & then transfer to freezer bags, so that I can just grab & go.
Or I freeze it in recycled yogurt containers. Everything other than bone broth goes in Mason jars, though. |
Re: If you freeze stuff in mason jars.....
So, this isn't really an answer to your question :giggle But I freeze broth in ice cube trays and then pop them into bags. I freeze almost everything in ice cube trays (beans too) :shifty
I also use the 8, 12 and 16 oz (pint) jars with perfectly straight sides. That way, you can put them in warm water briefly and they will slide out. |

I do what knitlove does. Just did today. Frozen jar, run under warm water, put in microwave of needed, dump into pot to finish dethawing.
