I made the most beautiful quiche today <3
DD loves quiche and asks for it frequently. Dh is a little burnt out on it and won't eat it anymore. So I decided to make a whole one for dd and freeze the individual pieces for her lunchbox (she takes her lunch to school 3 days/week).
She is incredibly adverse to vegetables of any kind, particularly mushrooms. I asked her if it would be okay if we made the vegetables "another way" and she tentatively agreed. :giggle Out came the food processor and in went carrots, mushrooms, spinach and green onions. It made a lovely crumbly mixture which we put in the pie shell (over a generous handful of cheddar cheese), and poured the egg mixture over (3 eggs + 2 yolks and 1 1/4 c. cream). The end result was beautiful! The veggies all rose to the top, leaving a brownish marbly surface. Dd ate it, and announced, "Mmmmm, I like mushrooms like this!!" :jawdrop This is probably not rocket science to most of you here, :giggle but I was really proud to find a way to get some veggies into dd! I never thought about the mushrooms being a texture thing, but I can totally see it. They are kind of weird in a way. :yes Anyway, just thought I'd share! :heart |

:tu Sounds yummy! Quiche is something I avoid making because I detest pastry-making. Love eating it, though!
