Re: I need a hobby
What about doing a service project together on a regular basis? Petting kittys at the shelter, walking dogs at the shelter, delivering meals to seniors, driving seniors to church, shopping for groceries to homebound people at church, volunteer at the local museum, bake something to deliver to police, firemen (if they accept home baked items) bake for a widower at church

Re: I need a hobby
Our family loves hiking, which in the flatlands of western Ky is really just a happy stroll in the woods. Or you could do a couch to 5K thing together and train for runs. Group class at a local gym together? I know you said you gave up on sewing, but simple, strip-pieced patchwork quilts are super easy and fun to do together.

Bible journaling
I like it, because it can be as simple as adult coloring book style (like the inspire bible) all the way to mixed media art. If you have basic art supplies all you would really need is a journaling bible (a bible with wide margins on the side) and gesso. You only need the gesso if you are planning to use something other then colored pencils and you don’t want coloring to show through to the other side of the page. |
Re: I need a hobby
What about watching the bake off and then baking? You could try one treat and send the rest out the door to your work, DH's work, church, neighbours...
If you crave information what about researching something together? Or making a trivia game? Art classes like painting or sculpting? |
Re: I need a hobby
We are the opposite here, my husband doesn't really have any hobbies. Unless you count watching TV and playing a game on his phone or computer.
I taught myself how to crochet and my daughter would look at the book and ask if I could make this sweater or that blanket. I told her to let me stick with dish cloths first. Then figured out that I don't want to learn how to crochet anything more than a small square dish cloth. My younger 3 all enjoy walking with me, sometimes in the neighborhood or sometimes in the woods. I love the idea of baking together and blessing someone else with the baked goods! Do you like card games? My mom played board games with us but my dad never would, he does not like them. Look for a hobby that is some type of exercise. Walking, jogging, bike riding, swimming, yoga. |
