I’d love to hear from the nurses! How long have you been a nurse and what is your favorite thing about nursing?

21 years, and I love the diversity. The diversity in the backgrounds of nurses, the diversity of roles, yet all bonded by the practice of caring for patients.

Its my 2nd career after being a SAHM so 3 years now. I did a year+ on a cardiac floor and this is my 2nd year as a school nurse which was my long term goal (to have the same schedule as my dc).
RIGHT now Im not working as the schools are closed. Im working a little bit but not much. oh I was asked to be the mystery reader for 1st grade elearning - so dh and I made this super awesome video.
I also just took a PRN job in a wellness center - but I am furloughed from that due to the CV19 - no prn staff. But thats ok, I was just in training so I could starting picking up hours over the summer. Im still hoping I can continue to train over the summer and then start working. Especially since dh is likely to be working from home all summer anyway.
My favorite thing about nursing is always being busy both physically and mentally. Im not a sit around person. And the availability of different jobs.

I'm the daughter of an RN. My SIL is also an RN. We love our nurse practitioners who take care of all our primary and psychiatric needs. My first pregnancy and birth was with a CNM.
