Making my own bread

We only eat sprouted grain bread and it's expensive! Has anyone made their own? Is it easy? I can cook well, but baking...... not so much.

I have found a lot of helpful articles at this website before, too.

Re: Making my own bread

Thank you for sharing that. I have some kamut that I grind for bread baking (I use my vitamix with the wet blade - it works) and I am going to sprout the kamut using these directions: http://www.ehow.com/how_4454759_spro...paign=yssp_art
and make the bread.
In case you are interested - I actually use a mix of grains that I grind for my bread baking - right not I have kamut, steel cut oats, rolled oats, brown rice, amaranth, millet, lentils and probably a few other things in my grinding mix. It is pretty dense and I usually mix it half and half with store bought organic unbleached flour.
But, I have been wanting to sprout grains and that recipee sounds simple.
The one where you sprout and then dry it and then grind it sounds lots more labor intensive.
