Do you need Wifi to watch a rented movie on a tablet?
 

I have an LG tablet and was looking at renting a movie on it, to take for ds to watch while I stain horse jumps outside away from wifi.

Once you download the movie, you don't need wifi to watch it. So just allow some time for it to download before you leave the house. :)

I use wifi and stream. But downloading lets you watch after .

if you stream you'll need wifi or data if you download it can be watched later without internet connection.
I usually keep 1-2 things downloaded off netflix or amazon on my kindle for needed distraction or entertainment away from home.

That's new, I think. You can only download some episodes (or movies) and there will be a download symbol to click next to those. There's also a way to search downloadable things now.

Apparently the time limit varies among shows, but yes, they will expire after a few days or maybe a week.https://help.netflix.com/en/node/54865

Also see if your library has a download app like Hoopla for books and movies. :)

no it stays until you delete it.

Ive only had ones disappear if netflix themselves pulled them from the downloading option. However we tend to change it up fairly often anyways.

Well, I rented the movie and could not watch it away from Wifi. :(

The choices were SD or HD. I chose SD because it was $1 cheaper. Wondering if HD might work away from Wifi. Probably not.

I'll keep checking for a movie to buy that is not $15

I don't know. I watched it (well, skipped thru it) the night before, thinking that would download it. I don't think it gave me the option of downloading, it just did it, put it in the "library" that is.
