quick-stir fry minus sauce
 
i bought everything for a stir fry, then realized i dont have any sauce(soy or terriaki). im trying to eat healthier anyways, so ill just sink or swim tonight! anything i can do instead??

If you have a can of pineapples, you can use the juice and mix it with a little soy sauce and corn starch to make a yummy sauce! And while you're at it; go ahead and throw the pineapples into your stirfry....yumm-o!!

It is probably too late for tonight, but you could always season with garlic and or ginger and or honey and or orange juice. :giggle

If you balance sour, sweet, salty (and heat if you like it) you're good. A little honey, lime and salt makes a nice sauce. Ditto orange juice concentrate, a splash of rice vinegar and a little salt.

thanks guys for replying to this. its great info to have on hand. no more sodium laden store bought sauces for me. no way.:no im makeing a stirfry for lunch tomorrow. not sure what ill try yet, depends on what we have in the pantry. thanks!!

you can do vinegar and ketchup for a BBQ-like sauce.

Tonight was a pseudo stir-fry of brown rice, mushrooms, and spinach, with curry and the cooking liquid fromt he veggies stirred through. DS is a fan. :lol
