Uses for Peanut Powder/Flour?
I have an excessive amount of peanut powder/flour. So far I've mainly used it in smoothies and a little baking. Ideas to use it up?

I add some to oatmeal and mix with PB on DD's sandwiches if she's in a "too busy to eat" mode.

I wonder if you could use it similarly to almond flour?? If so you could do a plethora of baked goods with it. :think

It's defatted, so I'm not sure it would act the same way :think

Hmm, probably not... :think
Depending how badly you want to use it up, you could try something and maybe add a bit more of whatever oil you are using in the recipe. I sometimes hate to do things like this at the risk of losing all the ingredients so I'm not sure if it's worth it. :think I'm not too familiar with peanut powder... How much is an "excessive amount"? |
Re: Uses for Peanut Powder/Flour?
I use it mainly in smoothies and pancakes. Have you looked for recipe ideas on the pb2 website? they have some there.

Re: Uses for Peanut Powder/Flour?
I forgot about pancakes :doh I used to always do that. A little googling turned up a peanut sauce and a few other recipes.
I probably have about 3 lbs altogether. |
Re: Uses for Peanut Powder/Flour?
I was going to suggest a dipping sauce to serve with satay.

Let me know what you end up making!
I just remembered that I have a jar of this stuff in my pantry. :shifty I think dh bought it a while back for something... Don't even know what... :lol Obviously whatever it was for was not a huge hit. :shifty:giggle So now I should use it up! Tell me about some of the basic uses. You add it to smoothies -- just regular fruit smoothies to add a pb taste or do you make a specific pb smoothie? And pancakes? Just regular pancake recipe and add a bit of the powder? How strong is the taste? |
Re: Uses for Peanut Powder/Flour?
I use it in chocolate smoothies with banana and a handful or two of spinach.
For pancakes just replace 1/4 cup or so of flour. The taste would not be strong. I'll share more when at a computer about what I've done so far. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: Uses for Peanut Powder/Flour?
I really like Thai peanut sauces on noodles, rice, or for dipping Thai spring rolls into.
The peanut flour banana bread sounds good. I bet you could also use it in a chocolate cake with good results! |
